Primary Blog/Expert Authority/7 Essential Posts To Promote Your Event And Maximize Attendance

Interview With Julie Mason

Welcome to our latest blog post on the i-Convert Summit platform!

Today, we have a special treat for you. Jason Buckner from iConvert Summit sat down with LinkedIn specialist Julie Mason to uncover the secrets of promoting your event and maximizing attendance.

If you've ever felt the frustration of planning an amazing event - including webinars - only to see low attendance, this is the interview for you.

Julie shares her tried-and-true strategies for creating buzz and ensuring a packed house (or Zoom room). Let's dive into the key takeaways from their conversation:

Jason Buckner:
Hey Julie, thanks for joining us today! Let's jump right in. What's the secret sauce for promoting an event on LinkedIn?

Julie Mason:
Hi Jason! Great to be here. So, there are six or seven essential posts that I encourage everyone to use. Here's the breakdown:

1. Overview Post:
Start with a general overview of your event. Why should people care? What's in it for them?

2. The Big Secret:
Your next post should tease the one big secret you'll reveal at the event. Think about your audience's biggest problem and hint at the solution without giving it all away. You want to encourage people to come along to hear the solution. Use some copywriting finesse.

3. Guest Speaker Highlight:
If you have a guest speaker, showcase their expertise. Explain why they're an authority and why attendees should listen to them.

4 and 5. Feedback And Testimonials:
Share feedback from past attendees. Social proof is powerful and can convince others that your event is worth their time.

6. Final Reminders:
As the event approaches, remind people to register. There are always last-minute decision-makers, so a "We're going live in two days" post is crucial.

7. Last Call:
Just before the event starts, send out a "last chance" reminder. Urgency can be a great motivator. You've got to remind them, "Hey, we're going live in an hour. This is your last chance to get in on the action and join us live." And so, that would be how you would post out to encourage people to come to the event.

And so many people forget to do that. They just kind of go, "Yep, I've done my event live on LinkedIn. That's all I need to do. It should all come to me. You know, I've put it out there, and now just let it all come to you."

And I wish it worked that way. But if you put in just a little bit of effort and you follow some of these strategies that I'm teaching, it will make it a whole lot more effective for you in getting people there and not only getting them to accept your invite, but getting them to show up and come to the event.
