How To Use LinkedIn Events strategies when you don't run events:

Here's the question asked of Julie at the recent i-Convert Summit:

"Good one, good one. I've got one last question for you, and that is, I'm not an event space. Well, I am an event space business. So, we're in an event space business. But for all of our attendees out there that aren't in events-based businesses, what is an event, really? How does this whole event thing work for me if I'm, say, a service-based business? How does that work?"

And Julie's reply - make sure you're taking notes here:

"Perfect. So, let's say you might be an accountant that's looking for new clients, for example, you know, or, and I'm not sure if that's the case for many accountants nowadays. I think it may be or may not be. But let's say that's the example we're running with at the moment.

And I'll give a couple of different examples here, okay?

So, you might then search for LinkedIn events around people who are looking for help around doing their books. So, they might be trying to find out, or they might be attending events that are around keywords in the financial industry. That might be Xero, or MYOB, or QuickBooks, or they're trying to learn about that.

Or they're finding out how to be more profitable in their business, you know, and there would be events on all of those topics on LinkedIn, without a doubt. And for that, you could then go and have a look at who's running those events and just click the happy accept button, because just by clicking the happy accept button doesn't mean that you have to pay for the ticket. It doesn't mean that you're giving away the shot, but it does give you access to that very important networking tab that shows up, where you can go through those people who have expressed interest in learning this.

These are people who have identified themselves as, "I need more help with this."

And so, they could be your ideal type audience. And you could then go and start to connect with those and build a strategy around how to take them from a connection to being a client."
