Jason:
What are your thoughts on how we can help double people's sales using a virtual team?

Carmen: Well, it's a really good question. When you think about doubling, it sounds pretty full-on, but at Global Teams, we've actually doubled year on year since we started. So, watch out for next year, people!

There are so many components to it. I'm sure, like all the presenters you've brought on, there are many parts you need to get right to make it work. From sales and getting support with sales to delivery — I'm just talking to a client about following up on invoices and all those things.

There are ways we have clients using virtual assistants in all parts of those processes. It's about working out where you need support and how you can get that support in those processes. So, that's the broad, global answer.

Jason: Yeah, good one, good one. And my brain's just gone off on a few tangents! First, I think, what are those processes? There's so much more. We'll allude to this a little bit later as well, but you've got some more sales strategies. But tell me more about the sorts of things people are using their assistants for that others might not realize.

Carmen: So, let's talk about the sales side because that's the bit we're focusing on at the moment. With sales, we still actually have the sales conversation within Australia — someone within Australia still has that actual face-to-face conversation. A lot of our clients still have that going on. But the virtual assistants help with everything around that conversation. From the marketing to bringing people to us, to scheduling the meetings — even if it's by Calendly. Sometimes we've got someone saying, "Could we meet half an hour later?", so that back and forth happens.

And if you didn’t close the sale on the first go, we've got a seven-step follow-up process, like, “Hey, are you still interested?” It includes SMS, LinkedIn messages, emails, and things like that. What that does is increase the conversion of the people you've got while attracting new people.

With marketing, the things virtual assistants can do are endless. Once again, you create the core content — like you're the expert at it. You shoot the video or write the article, but then your virtual assistant makes it look good on Canva, edits the video, distributes it all over social media, so people know about you and have the opportunity to see if you're a good fit to help them.

Jason: You've just made me think of an example! We're recording this interview right now, and it's going to the i-Convert Summit. But there are so many steps involved in it. We might have a few bloopers that get edited out, so that’s one thing that needs to happen. Then we do a transcription, and that gets used in certain places. Then we extract the audio, and that gets used in other places.

These aren't things that I'm going to do, but they’re something my virtual assistant will handle. I hand it over, we have a system in place, and then that all flows smoothly.

Carmen: Exactly! There are so many things that happen in business, and when we start preparing to double our sales, we might even do more than double. But that’s a different mindset. Let's take one step at a time!

Having all of those things in place, that we do every single day, is key. We get caught up in the doing sometimes, don't we? And not giving ourselves a chance to work on the business, which is where support can help. Not just with sales but with doubling our operations as well.
